I am the founder for The Dan Roberts Group – a multifaceted lifestyle company. I am also the author of Methodology X (MX2) http://methodologyx.com which is a 28 day workout guide for models and women which has just launched this January.
AT WHICH POINT DID YOU DECIDE THAT YOU WANTED YOUR JOB TO SURROUND FITNESS?
I coached sport as teenager and have been professionally involved in fitness coaching for over 20 years now. It’s all I have ever wanted to do.
HOW IMPORTANT IS EXERCISE WITHIN A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE?
I believe it is very important. Exercise is the backbone to being both physically and mentally healthy
WHAT WOULD BE YOUR ONE PIECE OF ADVICE TO ANYONE WANTING TO GET FIT?
Regularly try new activities and sports. The best exercise is the one you find fun and interesting to do.
WHAT PIECE OF EQUIPMENT IS TOP OF YOUR LIST FOR A GREAT WORKOUT?
A gym ball. You can use it in so many ways. My new ebook MX2 is full of exciting, challenging and effective gym ball moves
WHICH FOODS DO YOU ENSURE YOU EAT TO COMPLIMENT YOUR LEVEL OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY?
Carbs. They get bad press, but we need them to fuel our bodies. I eat a mix of slow and fast releasing carbs. Sweet potatoes fries are my favourite thing to add to any dish!
AND, BIGGEST GUILTY FOOD PLEASURE?
I have developed a taste for ridiculously expensive and high quality Ecuadorian chocolate. I have a little bit every day.
DO YOU HAVE A MANTRA THAT YOU LIVE BY?
Work hard, train hard, play hard, live hard
AFTER AN INJURY, HOW DO YOU ENSURE YOU ARE BACK TO NORMAL AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE AGAIN?
I have done a lot of ACL injury rehab for pro athletes so I fully appreciate physical rehab is essential. Doing too little rehab is just as bad as over training too early.
IF YOU COULD TAKE YOUR FITNESS VENTURES ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD THEY BE, AND WHY?
Luckily I already do. My company has already done events in New York and this year we will be doing more in USA. USA is the natural evolution of our brand as we work with so many Hollywood based clients.
FAVOURITE EXERCISE MOVE WE SHOULD ALL BE DOING?
Kicking. Great to tone up, great for mobility, great for power and endurance. It’s such an underrated move.
