The Naturally Sassy philosophy is all about embracing foods that are the most beneficial to your body. There is no one-size-fits all answer for what we should eat, food should be a journey of personal discovery. As a society, we are so trend led when it comes to health. How you choose to eat should be entirely bespoke to you, based on how YOU feel. In a world where information and inspiration is so accessible online, it’s so easy to get swept up in somebody else’s ‘healthy’, that you don’t seek to find your own. I believe that eating a diet with less processed ingredients and more plants can benefit us all. Eating a plant-heavy diet is not about depriving yourself of foods and flavour but switching up the ingredients, and still making something delicious. Cooking indulgent, healthy meals that taste incredible and make you feel great in body and mind. This doesn’t mean you have to cut out food groups, or be ‘something-free’, this simply means getting rid of the junk in place of unrefined whole foods is the first step to learning what your body thrives off.
I used food to make me look a certain way and never related it to how I truly felt. I aim to separate food from body image and make it all about how you feel, getting people passionate about cooking the foods that make them feel their best. Inspiring them to educate themselves in the lesson that is their own ‘healthy’.
My mission is to inspire people to love the skin they’re in through great tasting, feel-good food and inspiring movement.
HOW I EAT:
I don’t put a label on the way I eat, because it’s not categorised, it’s very personal to how my body feels. With my personal food journey, one that will forever continue, I have found that dairy, wheat, meat and refined sugars are really bad for my body; Eating these foods I feel really sluggish. I learnt this over time and slowly realised which specific food groups affected this feeling for me. The foods that make me feel my best do include eggs, raw honey, bee pollen and occasionally fish. I was lucky enough to grow up with fresh eggs laid by chickens in my garden, so sourcing food locally and ethically is of the upmost importance to me and the recipes I create.
I hope my recipes and recourses serve as the foundation you may want to build your own ‘healthy’ and find out what works from you. My recipes should serve as the building blocks for your winning combination!
