NAME OF COMPANY:

Rude Health – http://rudehealth.com

WHAT IS IT:

A wonderfully ever-growing range of breakfasts, drinks and snacks; Gone are the days where every single box of cereal is laden with unnecessary sugars and chemicals; the vast selection of breakfast options available at Rude Health contain only a handful of ingredients each, all of which are of course absolutely amazing for you as well as incredibly delicious. Think flavours including honey and nut, strawberry and raspberry and coconut and chia (our personal fave!). Obviously we need a delicious non-dairy milk to top our cereals with, and well, you guessed it, Rude Health stock a range of almond, hazelnut, brown rice, oat and coconut milks too which are absolute staples in the Naturally Sassy kitchen. If you’re more of an on-the-go eater though, there’s no need to despair; Rude Health have got your back with a collection of snack bars equally as divine. Don’t panic as it doesn’t end at breakfast; With a variety of rice cakes to choose from including oat and spelt, brown rice, corn or multi-grain, and a crunch so delightful that they honestly work perfectly with literally any topping, some of our faves being nut butter and banana (if we’ve got our sweet tooth on) or smashed avocado with a sprinkling of chilli flakes for when we’re fancying something savoury, they literally are wonderful. These toppings also work brilliantly with Rude Health’s oatcakes… Erm, ginger and turmeric flavour anyone?

WHEN YOU CAN EAT IT:

Rude Health literally have every time of day covered, and anyway who says cereal is just for brekkie eh? For breakfasts, cereal and milk just never gets old, however if you wanted to change it up by adding a topping to your smoothie bowl of their crumbled Spiced Apple Granola, it genuinely tastes incredible – less like a breakfast and more like a dessert. These crunchy clusters also make for the perfect snack, as do the bars, rice cakes and oatcakes (these can be eaten in pretty much any way imaginable so get creative!). As for the milks, aside from accompanying your cereal bowl, stirring into your porridge, and adding to your smoothie, there are so many brilliant ways to make overhauled versions of your favourite liquid treats. Our favourite involves blending the Rude Health hazelnut drink with some raw cacao, maple syrup and ice, and literally, voila – you have yourself a creamy glass of chocolate milk that is going to do you some serious good in the process!

THE IDEA BEHIND IT:

Rude Health recognise that whole foods are what your body need to thrive so as a result of this, they never include any refined sugars or artificial ingredients in their products . Their creators, Nick and Camilla Barnard, are not afraid to voice their opinion on how important real, honest food is (if you don’t believe us just check out the rant section on their site http://rudehealth.com/rants/ – yes, we totally need a ranting section too!), and Rude Health food certainly reflects just that. Now you may be wondering where the name stems from… ‘in rude health’ is actually an old-fashioned idiom meaning ‘up for life and bursting with energy’ (which is how we certainly feel after consuming their yummy products) – love it even more?..So do we!

HOW YOU CAN GET YOUR HANDS ON SOME:

What’s great about the RH is that they’re now available in our big local supermarkets including Tesco and Waitrose meaning they’re easily accessible to everyone, whether you’re in London or not. Of course Wholefoods, Planet Organic and independent health stores love them too, or if you fancy buying in bulk (we don’t blame you) Amazon has that covered. Rude Health’s website boasts a handy store locator service in which you can enter your location and find your nearest stockist. So wherever you are, there’s bound to be some Rude Health deliciousness not too far away!

WHY WE LOVE IT:

We think you’ve probably got the gist by now, but if not, well we totally adore Rude Health and everything that they stand for! This is for an abundance of reasons, though mainly because they make healthy eating really so convenient, extremely accessible and without any compromise on taste. For those mornings where we just don’t have the time to create something wonderful from scratch, we can be satisfied in knowing that a bowl of granola or a snack bare will do the trick without any health compromise. A whole lot of the recipes on Naturally Sassy require almond milk, and Rude Health is undeniably our go-to brand when we are in need. So in short, we seriously recommend trialling some of the products for yourself, in fact we think it would simply be Rude not to!

DUE TO THE SUMMER BEING CLOSE TO LEAVING US, WE THOUGHT WE WOULD LEAVE YOU WITH RUDE HEALTH’S PINA COLADA RECIPE:
