NAME OF COMPANY:

Vita Coco – http://vitacoco.com

WHAT IS IT:

For anyone who is unaware, coconut water is one of the most refreshing and utterly hydrating sources of liquid goodness your body can enjoy. They really don’t beat around the bush when they say that 1 carton is made up of pure coconut goodness – like “sticking a straw in a coconut” in fact. There are a few variations on the 100% coconut water though; one combined with orange, perfect perhaps for an enhanced replacement of your morning orange juice and inevitably bursting with Vitamin C, another mixed with peach & mango, genuinely tropical and ideal for those (frequent, for us) moments where you can’t help but dream you were sunning it up in the Caribbean, a pineapple flavour for that classically understated sweet addition to our beverage, and a lemonade for those of us craving a familiar flavour but with a genuinely healthy twist. We wouldn’t feel right not mentioning how much we love the coconut oil also; if you don’t use large quantities, they supply it in smaller tubs which are, by the way, extremely cute!

WHEN CAN YOU DRINK IT:

The genuinely brilliant thing about Vita Coco’s coconut water is that it can be consumed at literally any time of the day due to the fact that it is caffeine free, and well totally good for you! However, due to the high quantity of electrolytes within each carton, these drinks have the ability to totally replenish all the lost electrolytes that come as a result of working out – so post-workout really is an ideal time to take a swig or two of one of the flavours. As a replacement for your cup of coffee, morning glass of OJ, as a mixer, a wonderful addition to your smoothie, or even to accompany your evening meal are all ideal though as well!

THE IDEA BEHIND IT:

To provide the world (yes, literally you can buy it pretty much anywhere in the world – well, over 30 countries actually!) with an accessible, affordable, though totally delicious and nutritious coconut water. Let’s face it, some days we need a ‘pick me up’, but it’s too late to indulge in an americano, or water just seems far too well, watery – coconut water really is the answer to your #firstworldprobs in times like this, and Vita Coco coconut water (and all the different varieties) really do hit the spot, trust us!

HOW CAN YOU GET YOUR HANDS ON SOME:

These drinks are extremely easy to grab hold of at any leading supermarkets, health stores and cafes, though if places like this are a drive or so away and you are desperate for your fix, don’t fret as they can be ordered online as well as places like Amazon and Ocado (cue, sigh of relief!).

WHY WE LOVE IT:

Who doesn’t love a delicious drink that is totally healthy, available in pretty much any size that takes your fancy (we won’t pretend we don’t sometimes feel like having a litre!), low in cals and well, always hits the spot? As a result of it being genuinely good for you, coming from the inside of young, green coconuts, you can be rest – assured that your coconut beverage will never let you down!
