The chill of Autumn is well and truly here to stay, as Halloween is nearly upon us. I love this time of year filled with crisp mornings, autumnal leaves and snuggles on the sofa with steaming cups of tea. I also love the flavours at this time of year, so I’ve put together a Halloween recipe round up with some deliciously warming dishes as well as fun party snacks and sweet treats. I lived in LA for 3 years when I was growing up, where Halloween fever was definitely not lacking. I loved throwing myself into the fancy dress, decorations and silly party games! Whilst I won’t be knocking on my neighbours’ doors this year, I will certainly be creating a Halloween themed feast for my friends with classic treats like candy apples, and pumpkin pie as well as new dishes like my pumpkin brownies and chai spiced hot chocolate!

Here are my favourite recipes for you to try – enjoy!

Dracula Blood Lovin’ Beet Punch

A deliciously sweet drink that’s such an incredible colour and is the perfect beverage to accompany any halloween feast! The sweetness from the apple and beetroot is incredibly rich, packed full of flavour and the essence of cinnamon makes this incredibly cosy and seasonal too. Pour it into a cocktail glass and get some fancy straws and your away! Whilst most of the time, beetroot staining your white T-shirt would be anybodies worst nightmare in this instance it could be the finishing touches to your costume! Bye bye fake blood, hello beetroot juice!

Pumpkin soup

Not only are pumpkins awesome for carving scary faces into, they’re also incredibly nutrient dense. A cup of pumpkin contains almost twice the recommended daily intake of vitamin A, which promotes good eye health, and helps to form and maintain healthy skin, teeth and bones. They’re packed full of fibre and antioxidants such as beta-carotene. What’s not to love!

Gooey Chai Spiced Pumpkin Brownies

These are so easy to make, completely vegan and refined sugar free but honestly do taste naughty! I know some of you may be a little put off that they have pumpkin in them, but come on guys, it’s Halloween – being scared isn’t a bad thing – and this kinda ‘scared’ has a pretty delicious outcome.

Beetroot, butternut squash and coconut soup

I love the colour of this soup – perfect for a halloween dinner party or great fun to give the kids! And as a bonus, this soup is bursting with health benefits including inflammation reduction.

Caramel Fudge with a Chocolate Pecan Ganache

In case you need a break from pumpkin…..here is a deliciously chocolatey recipe, completely pumpkin free – I promise! The rich roasted almonds with the silky coconut oil and sweet agave nectar makes for the most life-changing combination – I’m all too obsessed!

Tahini Caramels

These tahini caramels are perfect for party nibbles – why not try setting them in a spooky halloween themed mould for tahini caramel-witches or -spiders! Tahini is absolutely bursting with calcium and skin loving omegas. It’s high in protein and helps keep you feeling energised and sustained. So not only is this recipe super yummy for you tahini addicts, it’s absolutely packed with goodness too!
