I really love this beetroot juice! It’s so delicious and it’s beautiful colour means you can’t help but be happy when you’re drinking it.
How to make beetroot juice
While beetroots are delicious, I like to add in other fruits and vegetables to my beetroot juice to balance it out. This recipe has apple, carrot and ginger making the perfect blend of fresh, sweet, and earthy.
What is beetroot juice good for?
As well as it’s amazing colour, beetroot benefits from having a high water content; more water means more juice! They’re also a powerful anti-inflammatory and contain a unique source of Betaine which is a nutrient that helps to protect cells, proteins, and enzymes from environmental stress. It’s also shown to help the recovery of muscles and joints, enhance stamina due to its wealth of nitrates, as well as support the blood and liver in the detoxifying process.
Apples contain an incredible amount of immune boosting antioxidants and red apples, in particular, contain one called quercetin which is particularly helpful if you’re feeling stressed out.
Carrots contain powerful antioxidants such as beta-carotene and vitamin C which help reduce inflammation in the body. They also contain skin-loving nutrients like silicon which promotes glowing skin and nails.
Ginger is one of my favourite ingredients to add to beetroot juice, or any juice really. It gives it a fiery kick as well as providing a good dose of anti-inflammatory nutrients
When to drink beetroot juice
When you’re in need of a quick boost of energy, this is the perfect pick-me-up. Since it has so many anti-inflammatory benefits it’s also a great one to make if you’re suffering from any minor injuries.
